I giochi della serie Choice of games sono avventure testuali a volte miste ad elementi GDR e a volte rilasciati a episodi. Io ne ho giocato qualcuno e mi son piaciuti parecchio.

Ne approfitto per segnalare che su Amazon Store c'è Choice of Robots (che devo ancora giocare) GRATIS per 24 ore ! Correte ad acciuffarlo!

Quello della Short lo gioco sicuramente! Io ho provato Choice of the Deathless, che parlando di non morti con me è una win assicurata XDDD, e mi pare Choice of Romance, che era gratuito da qualche parte. Tu quali hai giocato?

Ne ho iniziati diversi, ma non mi hanno preso.

Giocati in modo completo fino alla fine ho fatto Creature Such As We (noioso, ma interessante) e uno di fantascienza che ora non ritrovo (ma non mi ha convinto, perché c'è troppo testo scontato e troppa poca "azione").

Mi sono però ripromesso di approfondire.
Adoro il meccanismo del CYOA, ma Choice of Games ha puntato troppo sulla quantità invece che sulla qualità.

Peccato che Coiche of the Deathless sia gratuito solo per il primo episodio e, devo dire con molta onestà, mi avvisano che il primo episodio termina con un cliffhanger...quindi non credo proprio lo giocherò per ora, spero non sia così anche per gli altri! A me è piaciuto, anche se MOLTO faticoso (tanto testo e una lentezza diffusa della storia, che però è anche parte del suo bello).

Non so se il mio inglese migliorerà, il mio limite è che molte parole non le conosco...

Non c'è corso di inglese che tenga. Il mio insegnante è il videogioco.
Se giochi in inglese, vedrai che (se hai un minimo di basi) il tuo dizionario migliorerà costantemente.

Per l'inglese: come dice Ancient, leggendo il vocabolario migliora . Se tu avessi problemi con le forme grammaticali di base, allora sarebbe più difficile, ma se il problema principale sono le parole, tranquillo che piano piano le impari.

Lo so, avete perfettamente ragione, ma ciò implica che io vada a cercarmi di volta in volta i vocaboli che non conosco, cosa che di solito per pigrizia non faccio! Mi limito a cogliere il senso delle frasi o talvolta riesco a dedurre dal contesto il significato di una parola.

Di certo trovare i vocaboli aiuta, ma anche se non lo fai ogni volta, piano piano migliori, fidati . Magari comincia cercando i vocaboli che ti impediscono di capire tutta una frase, o simile, e pian piano il tuo inglese migliorerà.
